BUYING A PUPPY FROM WYOWIRES

We begin accepting deposits for puppies as soon as we make our final breeding decisions for a future litter.  Once your deposit is received, that guarantees your spot on the list for a puppy, but not necessarily the order of pick.  In most cases, puppies are chosen for you, but with a great deal of input from you, so that we can make sure that we match the right puppy with the right family. We are with the puppies nearly every hour of every day for the 8 weeks that they are here, so we have a very good idea of what the potential for each puppy is.  Puppies are evaluated between 6-7 weeks and this is when we match prospective puppies with their chosen families. We want to make sure that puppies that are best-suited for pet homes go to pet homes and field/hunting homes and puppies that are breeding/performance prospects go to homes where they can develop their full potential.

All puppies leave WyoWires on limited registration.  If you are interested in breeding your puppy eventually, we can discuss moving that puppy over to full registration once certain requirements have been met.  These requirements are in place to ensure that each dog that is bred from meets the breed standard and has proven its worth in the field and/or in the conformation ring, as well as through thorough health testing.  In order to move a dog over to full registration, we require that the dog is health tested through OFA for a minimum of hips and thyroid with hip scores of Good or Excellent and thyroid normal.  In addition, we require that your dog has, at a minimum, received a score of II or better in NAVHDA natural ability and/or an AKC JH title.  We highly stress the importance also that the dog has been awarded at least a Champion title in conformation with AKC or UKC.  If you are purchasing a black roan puppy from WyoWires, please be aware that the use of the color black in breeding has to be very carefully regulated.  For genetic reasons, black should not be bred to anything except liver roan.  If you have questions regarding the dogs you are breeding to with a WyoWires dog, please don't hesitate to contact us and we will help you out with any advice we have regarding certain lines or colors.

Our puppies go to their new homes when they are 8 weeks old.  They will have had their tails docked, dewclaws removed, first vaccinations, microchip inserted and will have been wormed multiple times prior to leaving for their new homes. You may come pick up your puppy at WyoWires in Casper, Wyoming or we can ship your puppy via commercial airline out of Casper, Wyoming.  If you decide to have your puppy shipped rather than traveling to Wyoming to pick it up, you will be responsible for the additional expenses associated with shipping the puppy, including airline cost or ground travel costs, crate and health certification.  These prices will vary, depending on which airline/shipper is used.  We can give you a rough estimate of what these costs will be as we prepare to ship the puppy.  Oftentimes it is possible to find rides for puppies to other locations via ground transport with other folks who are traveling to or from shows or field events.  We will try to find the best transportation plan we can for your puppy.

By the time your puppy leaves WyoWires, it will have become accustomed to sleeping in a crate and eating dry food.  It will have been exposed to multiple different ground surfaces, wings, live birds and, weather permitting, water.  We typically have worked on tracking and pointing (to the extent that an 8-week-old can track and point) and other fun stuff!  We like to see our puppies having a great time learning these basics as soon as they are ready.

WYOWIRES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY BUYER.

WYOWIRES RESERVES THE RIGHT TO KEEP THE PICK OF THE LITTER.

Puppies must be paid for in full by their 8th week - no matter when they are leaving our home, even if they are to be shipped. Shipping costs (which includes cost of ticket or ground transport, crate, health certificate and mileage fee) must be paid before shipping. We will not ship a puppy until all amounts owed have been received and cleared.  We ship through United PetSafe out of Casper.  The average cost to ship an 8-week-old GWP puppy is $450 (that fee includes ticket, crate, health certificate and other shipping costs).  Most shipping costs are based on weight and size of crate. The older they are, the more it can cost to ship them. WE CANNOT SHIP TO EVERY AIRPORT!  Even though one of these airlines may come to your local airport, this does not mean that they will allow pet shipping on those planes.  Most smaller airplanes will not ship pets due to lack of space.  Shipping by airplane is also very dependent upon current weather conditions.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT CHECKS AS FINAL PAYMENT.  FINAL PAYMENT MUST BE MADE IN CASH.  WE DO ACCEPT PAYPAL OR GOOGLE WALLET, BUT THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL 3% FEE APPLIED.

Deposits must be paid before a puppy will be reserved for you. The deposit is non-refundable!

Please contact us about getting on our list as we have an extensive waiting list for puppies.  Please make all checks payable to Lisa Uhrich. Deposit checks can be mailed to:  WyoWires, 5565 S. 12 Mile Road, Casper, WY  82604.
